How does iodéOS (iodé-tech) work?

  • How can iodéOS (Lineage fork) be installed on phones with bootloaders locked?
  • Why would phones like the Samsung Galaxy A7 (2017) and Note 9 appear on their list of phone that it can be installed on when it has "no" across the board on this list?
  • On phones with the bootloader locked, does it just sit on top of the existing android OS?

Sorry for all of the questions, but I am looking at as many options as possible available with a decent phone and camera long term to move away from Android and Google completely. I have done in the past, but looking for semi long term for when Android becomes locked down.

I just don't understand how they can create an installer that works with bootloader locked phones, and then the OS remain completely secure.

TIA

simplex·SimpleX ChatbyBabalugats

"connecting..." below chat, and "can't send messages"

I received a SimpleX link to a chat, and when I click on it, i can see their welcome message template

"Thank you for contacting o0o0o0o0. We will respond as soon as possible. Please clearly describe your request here so that we can assist you promptly"

Beneath that it says "connecting..."

And in the text entry field it says "can't send messages"

If I click in the text entry field I receive a pop up saying "You can't send messages!" with "ok" to close it.

I have gone to settings and selected restart. I have tried on two different devices, VPN on and off.

I have left it "connecting..." for over an hour (no change).

I have gone to their chat profile and says network status is connected and that "You are connected to the server used to receive messages from this connection"

I don't know what else to check, hoping somebody here will be able to help.

Recommended software to scan a load of video files for detected motion

Does anyone know of any good, reasonably fast software to scan through a load of video files. Hours/weeks of footage to sift out any motion detected reasonably quickly. Preferably with a GUI.

I have tried a few, and DVR-SCAN seems to do a decent job, but it's very slow, and without the GUI, I need to manually open every video file that it has saved (taking up a ton of space) to see if they have what i am looking for.

Ideally free software, as I am broke. But if there are good recommended paid options I will happily consider them, My head is close to exploding digging through these. I am using Linux Mint, but will happily use any distro that may help me better. Hopefully this post it allowed here, if not could someone please point me in the right direction. Thanks.

x86/32bit to try on an old Acer one nettop intel atom CPU N270 @ 1.60GHz 2GB ram

I was just given an old nettop from I think around 2010 - An old Acer one nettop intel atom CPU N270 @ 1.60GHz 2GB ram, it has Windows XP on it and it seems fairly smooth/quick, but I haven't done anything other than boot it up and check the spec. I was wondering what would be best to install on it and found that choices are very limited. Linux Lite nor Lubuntu seem to be an option anymore, and almost all of the options I tried under x86_x64 on Distrowatch no longer provide an x86 or 32 bit version. These are the main ones I have seen:

Damn Small Linux (DSL) - https://www.damnsmalllinux.org/

Puppy Linux - https://puppylinux-woof-ce.github.io/

AntiX Linux - https://antixlinux.com/

CachyOS - https://cachyos.org/

Tiny Core Linux - http://www.tinycorelinux.net/

Maybe a couple of others, but could anyone recommend the best option or maybe a couple that would be best and any ideas as to what may be the best use for it? Practicing coding? Just browsing? Etc. I think it may be between DSL and Puppy, but I am hoping to hear any others and will happily try them all. Linux Mint and Debian keep coming up in searches but unless I am missing something, I don't see anything about x86/32bit versions in the latest versions.
