I'm new to the selfhosted/homelab space and eyeing a used Dell Optiplex Micro system to experiment with. The unit has an i5-8500T and appears to support Intel vPro/AMT for remote management and KVM. This is interesting to me as I may not want to have a monitor and peripherals permanently connected. After substantial searching, most of the documentation and discussions on this topic are aimed at people with a deeper background. I believe I can figure out how to set it up, but I couldn't find straightforward answers to these security questions:

-I only want to use this for KVM while at my home. It seems like a security risk if this functionality works over the internet rather than just LAN. Is this actually the case, and if so, can it be set to LAN-only?

-Since the machine had a prior owner, is it advisable to reset the BIOS or somehow clear out potential vPro settings from the previous user?

I’ve had an iPhone 12 mini since launch and the battery life has become pretty abysmal. However, I’m reluctant to replace it with a newer, bigger model. My battery health is sitting at 86%, which really doesn’t sound that bad, but I feel like the actual battery life is way worse than when I bought it. Has anyone replaced their battery around this percentage, and did it give a noticeable boost?

As I collect more switches, I’d like a way to store them aside from old tupperware and ziploc bags. Has anyone found a type/brand of container that they’re particularly fond of? Looking for something budget-friendly and able to hold ~100 switches.

I’ve seen these mentioned in a few places as a promising new budget option, but there’s very little commentary on them. They come in linear and tactile varieties with different spring weights available. Is the factory lube decent?

The price seems hard to beat - and as an 1800-layout user, the price for ~100 switches can add up fast!
