I don’t know if this is just a local phenomenon, but every thrift store for the past ~6 months has had Red Skelton box sets. Just piles of them. Enough to build a pyramid in the desert of nothing but Red Skelton VHS tapes.
Wtf is Red Skelton? Is it funny? Is it worth watch? Should I pick up a 50 cent copy of Passenger Pigeon #1? Where are they all coming from (and why are there no VHS players anywhere)?
This is possibly my favorite [channel that I have downloaded from] Youtube [using yt-dlp] - it's not 100% VHS but extremely heavy in VHS content.
The channel is largely Nostalgia-focused, but has a series called Sleepcore, the idea of which is to invoke the feeling that one gets when you fall asleep watching cable TV (for those of us who've done that), so tons of stuff from the cable TV age is in there, a lot of it cultural detritus.
The theme park promo video one is a real nugget, ending with possibly the greatest song ever written.
