I'm taking a bit of a break from Lemmy, so I'm probably not going to be around much for moderation.

Luckily, there's usually not much to moderate, but I don't want there to be no one in case something does happen, like someone starts spamming TMBG-related AI slop. As of right now, though, there's never been a need to remove a comment or post, let alone ban someone, so this should be pretty low stakes.

At the very least, I want someone to keep an eye on the place; even better if they make a post every month or so, just to keep it a little less dead.

Until then, I'll try to keep moderating, probably just checking for stuff with my .world alt account once or twice a week.

::: spoiler spoiler Personally, I dig the Elegant Too remix more than I thought; TMBW Discord folk are split, but I think it’s a bit more unique sounding in TMBG discography than regular, which could be another Join Us song, which is great and all, but the remix just gives subtly different vibes that I enjoy.

“Peggy Guggenheim” is peak, giving late 90s/early 2000s TMBG instrumental vibes a la “Drinkin’”.

Overall, this EP gives me high hopes for A24 this spring. :::

After months of my e-mailing with a known owner of the tape, we finally have access to a rip of the It’s Fun To Steal LP Sampler, including its Backstabbing Liar Demo. Here’s the raw rip here: https://www.ufp.org/~bicknell/monopuff/

Unfortunately, the rip the guy made is kind of crappy, taken with a 2000s-era tape backup machine with horrible compression and too fast tape playback.

Luckily, good ol’ Peter Gritsch has done a remaster to make the tape’s most important demo more listenable, at least until I can convince the tape owner to do a better-quality rip.

Also, hi. It’s been a while. I usually neglect this community, as I’m more active on TMBW Discord, but I like to post something every once in a while in case a BG fan stumbles onto Lemmy.

I know that this one's been tackled twenty thousand million times and you're probably tired of seeing time loop memes by now, but like the urge to stick Gowron eyes on everything in the universe, I couldn't resist this intrinsic urge.

Someone was selling a bit from their collection off the TMBW Discord. I'd been wanting "We've Got a World That Swings" and "Sensurround" for quite some time, so I snapped it. It came with the hype sticker, so I took a scan of it. It was a bit beat up, so after some post-processing, I intend to upload it to the wiki along with the inner box art, which the wiki is missing.

P.S: Speaking of the TMBW Discord, honestly, it's an awesome place. I know many of us (me included) are FOSS hipsters me on Lemmy, but I'm actually more active there. It's a pretty hopping community - join link on TMBW if you want to check it out.
