Poob has it for you

No idea where this originated, but it always makes me smile when I hear it:

Have you seen the new show? It's on Tubu. It's literally on Heebee. It's on Poodee with ads. It's literally on Dippy. You can probably find it on Weeno. Dude it's on Gumpy. It's a Pheebo original. It's on Poob. You can watch it on Poob. You can go to Poob and watch it. Log onto Poob right now. Go to Poob. Dive into Poob. You can Poob it. It's on Poob. Poob has it for you. Poob has it for you.

The Binge Purge - TV’s streaming model is broken. It’s also not going away. For Hollywood, figuring that out will be a horror show.

Very good article detailing the end of "Peak TV" and a big factor on why their is a Writer's Strike going on in Hollywood (lack of residuals in streaming shows).

A bit bleak if you're hoping for television output to stay the same as pre-pandemic levels. But we've all got tons of shows we still haven't gotten around to, so the slowdown in productions of new shows shouldn't feel very dire to anyone but Hollywood Writers, Directors, and Actors.

The hope is that quality replaces quantity. A lot of unwatchable shit was made for TV the past few years.

Who’s Winning the Streaming Wars in 2023?

Using viewer metrics, industry insiders, critics, and other data, Vulture ranks the main streaming services in America. This isn't just ranking the number of subscribers, but factors content quality heavily in the equation.

No real surprises, perhaps except for Peacock. But the Top 3 are everyone's Top 3, if perhaps in slightly different order.

If you could choose only 2 Streaming Services to subscribe to this month, what services would you choose and why?

I'll go ahead and make the obvious joke: Usenet and BitTorrent!

But for those of us who don't care to pirate, or need to hook up parents and grandparents with Streaming TV, and want to use the "rotation strategy" of switching services every 3-4 months , which two do you choose right now?

For me, it's currently YouTube TV ($73) for the NBA and NHL Finals, and MAX for the conclusion of "Barry" and "Succession". But the NBA Finals can end on Monday, and I'm not keeping MAX for "The Idol" after watching the first episode. So I'm shopping around for new services.

I'll probably choose Netflix to catch up on "Beef" and "The Diplomat", and maybe Apple for "Ted Lasso S03" and some other shows over there. Any other suggestions? What services do you use the most?

Netflix subscriptions rise as password-sharing crackdown takes effect

It's early days, but the number of people signing up for new Netflix accounts seems to be outnumbering the ones quitting due to the policy change.

Netflix stock has been on a roll too, hitting a 52 week high recently. Surprisingly, the Ad supported tier of Netflix seems to be driving revenue higher than I'd anticipated.
