FATMAP will close on 1 October 2024

Thank you for being a dedicated FATMAP Explore member. Since we started FATMAP 10 years ago, your outdoor adventures and expeditions have made FATMAP the world’s most powerful 3D map.

FATMAP and Strava joined forces in January 2023 to make outdoor experiences more accessible. Over the next several months, we’ll bring many of FATMAP’s 3D maps and other features to Strava to create the world’s best platform for planning, navigating, and sharing outdoor adventures with the largest global community of active people.

As we move towards this joint mission, we will retire the FATMAP app, website and Explore Portal on October 1, 2024. As a Strava subscriber, you will continue to have access to all the FATMAP features you currently enjoy during this transition.

If you’d like to move your FATMAP routes to Strava or receive a copy of your FATMAP activities, routes, waypoints, photos, and guidebooks, follow the steps here by October 1, 2024. After that date, your data will be deleted permanently.

Once you migrate your FATMAP routes to Strava, they will be available as Saved Routes in your Profile on the mobile app and in your Dashboard on the Strava website. As a Strava subscriber, you’ve already elected to share your content and data with Strava. For more information about your rights regarding your personal data on FATMAP, learn more here.

We’d like to say thanks once again for the part you have played in FATMAP’s community. We look forward to seeing more of your adventures on Strava in the future!

See you out there,

Team FATMAP

Your Best Efforts just got better

Last month, the new Best Efforts section was released for runners to keep track of all those personal records – in one place. This month, we're rolling out even more updates to help you continue to lace up and raise the bar.

🏃 More Distances Now you can track PRs on even more distances, including 400 m, 800 m and 1 km. Plus, you can filter to see your top 10 efforts across every distance.

🗓️ PRs by the Year Now, you can dive deeper into a distance and how your PRs have progressed and trended over the years. Track your top five annual efforts at each running distance from 400 m to 50 km.

📈 Put it on a Graph And you can officially see your top five times from each year and a graph of your trend over time. Just tap View PR Analysis.

But, you know we're not done! Behind-the-scenes work is still happening to create more capabilities for Best Efforts (we're looking at you, cyclists 🚲). So stay tuned for more updates!

New map features

📍 Waypoints on Web Routebuilder This Map update allows you to add multiple waypoints (stops between the start and finish) to create even more personalized Routes for your activities. So add that coffee shop before the end of your ride, or plan for some scenic, shaded pit stops along the way.

📸 Photos on Route pages See what a trail looks like before you arrive. Or get inspired to try a new Route. View recent photos from the community to plan and prepare for the adventures ahead.

🖇️ Recent Activities While you're searching for the perfect Route to explore, you can see recent activities from the community that were completed on the same Route, and read activity descriptions for better planning.
