It's easy to overlook something vital!

So ... i played michigan. all four maps. like i thought i was supposed to.

i went to the task giver tab and got myself some tasks.

i got my upgrades, unlocked watchtowers, delivered some goods.

after a while i wondered where to get those tasks others were talking about (like raising the beast etc.) as i couldn't find them.

Turns out there is another tab (and i guess all of you knew about it) that is quite important: CONTRACTS!

alright, more to do. and also more content. i was quite slow playing through michigans tasks so i didnt mind especially with all the dlc to look forward to (not the buying but the playing).

thanks for the game devs. dont forget to check the contracts tab.

Expeditions: A MudRunner Game

We finally got a successor to Snowrunner. Apparently these are some of the new features and improvements:

  • Drones for scouting the environment
  • Finer selection of single "items" you want to take along on the roof carrier
  • Placeable anchor to connect the winch to
  • Actual properties of winch-rope like maximum length, load capacity and material
  • "Augmented Display" for detection devices that show results in the world

What we likely won't get but have asked for for years:

  • More realistic and usable gearboxes, manual gearboxes

Also the steam page says "Single Player" only but I never played multiplayer anyways.

SnowRunner humor about RWD trucks in British Columbia

So, something I found in British Columbia: Two truck rescue tasks. In Duncan Bay, there's a Ford CLT to rescue. It's stuck in a swamp. In North Peak National Park, there's an International Trans Star stuck in a swamp. The story with the Trans Star ends with the sentence, "I wish I was as good a driver as you!" Yeah, sure. It's either a joke or the devs want players to try driving these "highway trucks" in British Columbia so they get stuck.

I got the Wolf Pack DLC in the Steam summer sale. It's great!

A lot of truck DLCs get some hateful reviews on Steam. The Western Star Wolf Pack is one of them. I've been driving the Western Star 47X NF 1424 and it is seriously OP for Alaska. I can predict that it will be useful on harder DLC maps, even the dreaded Kola Peninsula or Amur. I'm thinking about using the truck with the sleeper cab to do the contracts with the rig semi-trailers in Alaska to see what happens. That one couldn't be OP, right? My first play through I used the Derry Longhorn, so I don't know.
