Temporary Rule: Help Me Add Reddit Credits

As some of you may have noticed, I’ve been slowly trying to add proper credit (the original Reddit username) to posts that were posted here from Reddit.

However… there is a massive backlog of posts, and it’s not realistically possible for me to track down every original username on my own.

So, I’m introducing a temporary rule:

If you see a post that does not list the original Reddit username, and you either know who posted it on Reddit or you are the original Reddit poster yourself, please leave a comment with that information.

Something as simple as:

“Original Reddit post by u/______” (Link)

Or “This was my post on Reddit (u/______)” (Link

That’s all that’s needed 👍

This helps keep things properly attributed while I work through the backlog.

Thanks for helping out, and thanks for being patient while I clean things up.

We've been hit with our first Copyright Notice (Original [post](https://www.reddit.com/r/okbuddyrosalyn/s/ZEYWNAATIN) by u/The_PhilosopherKing, the Head Mod of the Subreddit. I am reposting it here.)

We had a good run, but it looks like our April Fool's prank a few years ago was prophetic: Reddit has finally removed a post here in response to a copyright notice.

The mod team and I have had a look at the removed post in question and it's unclear what led to the claim (the admins do not privilege us with that information). 3 out of the 4 panels used were unmodified from the original C&H strip, though there was also a screenshot from a Twitch stream that could have been the cause. Alarmingly, the post in question was posted here over two months ago and only removed three days ago. It appears that retroactive removals of older content is certainly on the table.

We also regretfully announce that one of our long-time mods and prolific posters, u/HeIsNotGhandi, was handed a permanent ban last month for unknown reasons and has had no headway on an appeal. In the process of doing so, Reddit also saw fit to retroactively filter all of the posts they've ever made, effectively permanently removing the ones we don't have links to. We've since restored the ones that can be found on the megathread, but everything else has been de-approved with no easy means to locate or access them available to us.

We will have to see how this bodes for the future of the sub. We have no real way of saying for certain what actually constitutes a copyright violating post, so it is possible more posts here are at risk of removal. Reddit has made several policy changes recently to curb the autonomy and power of moderators and will likely be pressing forward with more changes to moderation structure that affect what we can and cannot do.

Myself and the rest of the mod team will keep you notified of any future developments and changes that might come out of this. Hopefully, we will be able to steer past this and keep the sub going without any more monkey (or tiger) wrenches thrown into the works.

Thank you for your mandatory attention to this matter, G.R.O.S.S.'ers.

- Your Dictator-For-Life, The Philosopher King

P.S. If anyone has a straightforward way of archiving all of the posts on the sub in a form that can still be viewed by the public, please let us know or share it here. It would be a shame to see several years of memes, series and community history vanish in the blink of an eye.

Expanding the Mod Team at okbuddyrosalyn

Hello everyone,

I’m currently seeking fpr a few additional moderators to help manage this community.

I created [email protected] as a dedicated space to celebrate the surreal, irreverent, and often brilliant humor that grew out of r/okbuddyrosalyn and its surrounding culture.

While the tone of the content may be absurd or chaotic, the moderation behind the scenes still takes time and attention — and with the number of other communities I help manage, it’s become a bit too much for one person (or two people, with [email protected]'s help) alone.

My Mental Health isn't doing so well either.

If you have a solid understanding of the unique tone and humor of this space, and want to help keep the community fun, safe, and on-brand, I’d love to have you on board.

Prior moderation experience isn’t required — just consistency, good judgment, and familiarity with the spirit of the content.

If you're interested, please feel free to comment here.

Thanks for your time, – Teknevra
