New to Nostr on Android. Do you use Amber, Citrine and Morganite for Nostr?

I just downloaded Amethyst to start using Nostr. While looking into setup guides and recommendations, I also came across Amber, Citrine, and Morganite.

Right now I’m wondering how people actually use these together in practice.

Do most of you just use Amethyst by itself and call it a day, or is it worth setting up the “full gem stack”?

Curious what setup you’re using and whether you think the extra apps are worth it.

Does anyone know a Nostr client that supports bulk adding relays?

Many clients let you export all relays as a text file or zip, but there’s no import feature. This makes switching clients or sharing relay lists tedious.

Is there a way to bulk import relay lists efficiently? If you’ve found a trick or client that does this, please share!

1. Download the iris.to app on Play Store (just search for "Iris nostr client" and it will appear);

2. Login with your account;

3. Go to the settings spot;

4. Above the Log Out the "Delete Account" will be avaliable;

5. Just tap "Delete Account" and there you go!

So, I have a node which also has a nostr address for lightning zaps. But, what is the deal with setting up a public profile? I see this recommended page in docs, but I'm also not interested in putting info into some random page. Here is the recommended doc I found for getting started with Nostr.

Also confusing besides that is the use of the clients themselves. I see I can add access to whatever client, but I also don't want to randomly join stuff. Right now I see myself using a webui in terms of client access:

• Iris.to
• Snort.social are recommended here.
• nstart.me 🤷 profile tool I was told to use, which is different than a webui client afaik

Should I be concerned in a similar manner to the Fediverse, where creating a profile is creating something permanent?

TIDAL is embracing Nostr, and may be a signal that other companies under Block's umbrella might make similar moves. It's only a small demo at this point, but it demonstrates the company's first commitment.

I found a WIP flutter/dart client for nostr. Dart is a great programming language to use since it allows a single code base that can be compilled into an app for Android, iOS, Windows, Linux and Mac.

Also the Thunder app, a Lemmy client is written in dart and is a well polished client for Lemmy.

Hope for people work on this nostr client than any other client since anyone can enjoy the features this client has to offer, regardless of their device.

nostr seems like a twitter, instagram and youtube platform were the content flows like this...

user -> post -> comments

Where the user have an account and posts content which others can like, dislike and comment on.

However reddit and lemmy flows like this...

community -> post -> comments

Communities are moderated by one or more users. Moderators can remove posts and comments in their communities to keep the communities subject from going off topic.

With all of this being said here are my questions...

1. Is it possible to create communities on nostr
2. Can you have two communities with the same name? Does each community have a unique ID like nostr accounts have a unique public key?
3. Can one or more users moderate a community? Can the moderators delete posts and comments in their community?
4. Can a community not allow anyone but moderators to post in the community?

I recall that several months ago when I heard about nostr for the first time I didn't find guides on how to post, nor where I could download a client, so hopefully sharing these links will help people onboard!

I haven't heard much. I know there is mostr but I don't think that includes lemmy. Does anyone have some info?

Can you download your data from relays? This will be useful for understanding how nostr works as you play around with it and also be good for privacy.

Are E2EE DMs stored on relays forever or only until the recipiant recived the message?
