Dell and Lenovo may limit mid-range laptops to 8GB DDR5 RAM in response to rising memory prices

With DDR5 RAM prices skyrocketing, some mid-range laptops could soon ship with budget-level specs. TrendForce expects companies like Dell and Lenovo to stock more notebooks with 8GB of memory. These reasonably priced options may no longer handle intense office and gaming tasks.

The OmniBook 7 Aero 13 is an almost ideal subnotebook for constant travelers who want to carry as light as possible without sacrificing too much in terms of performance or quality. The AMD Zen 5 CPU in particular is excellent considering the size and weight of the system.

Framework stops selling standalone RAM to ward off scalpers — warns it will have to increase memory pricing soon as AI crunch bites

The memory crisis has hit Framework, the company behind highly customizable laptops that users can upgrade on their own. Framework sells SO-DIMM modules on its website that are now all out of stock, with only two DDR4 models still remaining. These can be purchased separately, while the company still has some DDR5 inventory left that it'll be bundling with its DIY Edition laptops.

New model, original design: LG Gram 17 2025 (Lunar Lake) laptop review

Every year, a new LG Gram arrives without significant changes to its design. Equipped with Lunar Lake, a large battery, and quiet dual fans, the current Gram is certainly compelling. However, it no longer distinctly stands out from the crowd, as other manufacturers now also offer a solid lineup of lightweight laptops.

Lenovo G710 CPU and Ram Upgrade Questions

About a Year ago I received a Lenovo G710 from my Uncle. At the Time I looked at its Specs and saw it was just a bit better then the Laptop I'm still using now (Asus I7-4500U with 12gb of DDR3-1600) So I left it as was on a Shelf.

Yesterday a Friend of mine asked me if he could Buy it just to have a Laptop for on-the-go, so I figured I'd put in a SSD, Ram Upgrade and Repaste the Thermals which got me to look up its Technicals...

Much to my Suprise, turns out that not Only does it have 2 Ram Banks, but also a Socketed CPU- meaning I can Upgrade it!!

Now I do wonder just how Far I can Upgrade it? Right now its got an i5-4210M and around 8 Gigs of RAM. I've read in places that a i7-4712MQ is the most Performative you can get, is that true? I've also read Conflicting info on just how much RAM it can handle. Most places on the Internet say it can take a max of 16 gigs, yet I've seen claims of it going up to 32 gigs (All DDR3-1600), which the CPU does support.

Would love to hear your Folks Thoughts!
