[Release] PetDNS - profile manager for NextDNS

Welcome to PetDNS, a fully native management app for NextDNS!

If you're not familiar with NextDNS, I highly recommend giving the service a try! NextDNS is a DNS service that blocks advertisements and trackers across the web and inside apps to help secure your devices.

PetDNS is the easiest and best way to manage your NextDNS account, whether you have one profile or dozens! PetDNS has beautiful dashboards and analytics, a feature-rich log parser, and full control over advanced features, such as DNS Rewrites and Parental Controls.

Other NextDNS management apps either have unnecessarily restrictive free tiers or push you to a web view to manage certain parts of your profiles and account. PetDNS gives you access to all of your data at no charge. PetDNS also provides widgets and Shortcuts to allow automated data gathering and management, something that no other app currently provides!

Any and all feedback is welcome!

a-Shell and Ish are pretty cool

Since I started using Linux, I've been using the terminal and teminal "apps" more. Not sure if thats the right word. Can now use ssh as I would on a pc, (apk add openssh for it to work on ish) and locally from my phone use ffmpeg to convert/compress videos/images if im not near my pc to turn it on. (apk add ffmpeg on ish)

a-Shell has what I use I-shell for by default, there you do no need to add it, but I-shell uses alpine linux and has access to whatevers available on that repo. While a-shell is more native? No idea how it works but it only has a few options for things to install and has the main things I use (ssh and ffmpeg) by default.

I really like just starting in a terminal even when my only goal is to ssh into my pc, not a fan of how most terminal apps only launch a terminal after you've connected to your server/pc.

The ‘Enshittification’ of TikTok -The Origin of the Term-

Many more Apps will suffer the same fate. Capitalism is good for progress and innovation but unrestrained greed is bad for everyone.

A healthy, delicate balance between capitalism, socialism, government oversight and user freedom sustains a healthy sustainable growth, a commentary that extends to the real world, beyond Apps and the internet.

Apollo for Reddit ~ An Homage ~ / An App Killed by Reddit’s Greed

It was consistently featured, lauded, touted as one of the best apps in the app store.

It made browsing reddit bearable.

It serves as a shining model of what an iOS app should be.

A developer that listens to its community.

Alas, greed killed you.

Greed of the very companies you helped popularized.

Still your memory lived on, still we continue to sing praises.

In the hopes that more will follow your examples and bring iOS app development to new heights.

Goodbye Apollo. Goodbye old friend.

May your memory live on in the fediverse

Apollo shut down on June 30, 2023 due to Reddit making drastic and sudden increases to API pricing for developers.

I loved building Apollo for the last 9 years, and it has been the journey and dream of a lifetime. I’m sad that journey has ended, but I thank you so much for the support over the years, and I feel truly fortunate so many people were able to enjoy Apollo.
