Etch, my daughter's guinea pig, crossed the rainbow bridge today.

He was her emotional support animal and went through college with her. He was a very good boy.

The subreddit r/guinea pigs has some issues with bots stealing our posts and uploading them to Facebook, so I came here. Doesn’t seem like a super active place but I’ll start posting about my peegs anyway!

We're having sweet corn with dinner, which means the girls get to have corn silk which is one of their favorite treats.

This baby girl is currently being hand fed because her mother died the day after she was born. No surviving siblings either. We're trying to get her up to speed with hand feeding and she's growing pretty well!

We're housing her with an elderly female who seems to be ok with her being around.

A massive small-animal hoarding crisis has emerged in South Los Angeles, where rescue volunteers estimate between 400 and 500 guinea pigs were discovered living in overcrowded and unsanitary conditions. The Southern California Guinea Pig Rescue (SCGPR), along with other rescue groups, is urgently calling on local officials, the public, and fellow organizations to take immediate action to prevent further suffering.
