Had to go to A&E (Galway) around 8pm and assumed I'd be there for hours.

While I was listening to music, a part of my earbud got stuck in my ear. Attempts to fish it out just pushed it in deeper and it got fairly painful then.

It was surprisingly quiet in A&E - about 10 other people there, and their company. Anyway, I was only waiting about 15 minutes when a nurse calls my name and sorted me out. She was there since noon and hadn't seen the light of day since.

Once she was done I waited a few minutes for a doc to check the inner ear tissue in case there was damage. I got the all clear and was home in less than an hour. They're such legends. They work so hard but were so nice to deal with.

We had all the doors and windows open during the extreme heat a few weeks back. I saw a big spider scurry out of my room at 2am and because it was so late I had to suppress my little-girl scream and just close my door with the gap at the bottom stuffed.

Anyway, it's been on the back of my mind since. Every time I feel the slightest crawling sensation on my body I'm wondering if this is the moment where I pay the price for letting him go.

Just now in the kitchen I turned the light on and there he was under the kitchen table. One of the house mates took care of it thank god. I feel like I'm finally relaxing after all those weeks! Honestly, I never want to open a door or window again without an insect screen.

If you're not afraid of spiders, I envy you.

I can remember kerb ball and 40/40. I can’t remember how 40/40 worked mind you.

The reason I ask is I saw a video ages ago of adults playing the street games we used to play and it looked like a lot of fun.

I went to meet a friend for a bowl of soup. It was sunny so I left without a jacket and walked but it was colder than expected. When I got to the café the sky was getting very dark. This is around 2pm. Anyway, it starts lashing rain just as we sit inside and I was dreading the 25 minute walk home. Just as we were finishing up the sun came out again. Clear skies all the way back! I feel like I got away with something :)
