March 21 Garden Planting Event at Thames Street Park
Saturday, March 21st, 2026
1:00 pm to 3:00 pm (Eastern Time)
Thames Street Park, 1832 Thames St, Baltimore, MD, 21231
Thames Street Park in Fells Point Baltimore City serves as a nesting ground for Black-Crowned Night Herons. The hatchlings sometimes fall out of their nests (a natural part of learning how to fly!) but are unable to hop their way back up due to a lack of mid-sized/understory plants.
Volunteer to help install understory native plants to give the hatchlings a soft landing and "ladders" back into their nest trees.
Hosted by Fells Point Residents Association in partnership with Wild Ones Greater Baltimore, Waterfront Partnership and Baltimore Bird Club.
YouTuber Nick Shirley came to Baltimore to talk about fentanyl. People weren’t happy.
Conservative YouTube content creator Nick Shirley walked into a West Baltimore church on Thursday, selfie stick in hand, during a Narcotics Anonymous meeting.
After Shirley’s request to film the drug addiction recovery meeting was rejected, someone recognized the 23-year-old social media star, perhaps best known for his viral video alleging fraud by businesses run by Somali immigrants in Minnesota.
The man who recognized Shirley demanded that he leave, according to Tiffany Christian, administrator of Simmons Memorial Baptist Church in the city’s Penn North community.

A former Baltimore Police sergeant who in May pleaded guilty to misconduct in office will avoid a prison sentence.
Ethan Newberg was accused by prosecutors of a series of unjustified arrests in 2018 and 2019, in which the former Southwestern District sergeant would detain bystanders, often those who criticized his police actions or attempted to record him. His actions were derided publicly when he was first criminally charged in 2021 by the then-police commissioner as “not just wrong, but deeply disturbing and illegal.”
...
Prosecutors requested that Taylor sentence Newberg to 36 months of incarceration, while defense attorney Joe Murtha asked for no jail time.
Mercedes shops
Hello Baltimorons!
I am looking for an auto shop that specializes in Mercedes vehicles. I am in Southwest Baltimore and it would be nice to find a shop that is close to me. Any recommendations?
