Lemmy.world seems to have more crashes lately but whatever, I appreciate the work put in to keep it running.

But it just caught one of them. It was trying to redirect me to 192.168.1.9 - which is a private IP, non-routable. What’s going on? Do we need to worry about malware?

(And yes, this is exactly why I don’t use the same default IP range that every other residential user does)

I am thinking of creating a community, and only allow myself to post in it, in order to run it as a kind of blog.

Is this a valid use of communities on lemmy.world?

Any tips or advice when doing this?

What goes around comes around, especially on the web. Still, I think it would be a nice touch to add a small Lemmy watermark logo to the bottom right of all the original memes, just to let everyone know which platform they came from.

I am a non-native English speaker. But I cannot understand any language other than English and my native language. Right now my All feeds are littered with French, Danish, Italian or whatever other languages of which I have no clue about.

I just want to have an English only feed.

I am concerned becauase it is often said that setting language to anything other than Undetermjned will lead to loss of many posts.

Can I as a moderator of a community I created myself post as a regular member?

I’m very new on Lemmy and have a few questions. First is that I registered on the lemmy.world instance, does that mean that I can only access posts from that instance or can I access other instances ?

Second if the answer to my first question is yes, is it the case for other fediverse apps (mastodon, peertube,etc) ?

Seriously didn't think I'd be using my own sub on day 1 for a serious question...
