Animal Crossing New Horizons Resources!

Hello! To help start off this community, I'm going to put a link of resources that I have found personally helpful while playing New Horizons! This is just what I found myself to be helpful. If you think anything else would be helpful to put here, please tell me!

ACNH 3.0 is a bit different

Kapp'n "shipping of goods" in ACNH seems a bit like the older Pocket Camp, when that game was still on line. Previously we did not save many supplies other than the basics. These days we save everything because we never know what goods will need to shipped out, we get requests for things we do not have, items crafted from trash fishing, cooked meals, items made using flowers, weeds and fruits. This is not a complaint, it does give us more to do, at least until we finish the Hotel and unlock the older Nintendo games at the hotel.

Overall, we like the 3.0 upgrade and the ACNH NS2 version, but confess we did not do much with slumber islands. We did experiment with the NS2 game chat and that works good using the built in microphone ( after it is set up). We are not doing good with the megaphone , the first time it seemed good but recently the wrong villagers answer, it may be the way we pronounce the names.

Treasure Island

I read about treasure islands many times and yesterday visited one of the free islands by Pange Plays? It was very interesting, looked like it had everything a player would need to get an island to level 5. I think it had 6 free islands with all the raw materials, bells, gold nuggets, star fragments, diys etc . Some things looked like it was better to avoid, such as the bridge construction diy and I avoided the section with creatures. In addition to bells, it had Royal Crowns - 20 will get you 6 million bells at Nooks Cranny. The web page constantly listed who was on each island, along with the current dodo code and a map showing where things were located. The only down side was waiting often as players come and go , and we did get booted when someone left silently. We ended up spending over an hour, looking at various things available on several of the free islands. We live in USA and early morning seemed to be a better time, all 6 free as islands have status updates so you know how busy they are when you visit the website. The free islands are impressive, but there is a paid subscription, about $5 a month for artwork and other harder to get items.

I often read about problems after using treasure islands, but the DIY seemed OK, as well as the items we picked up. Overall not much different than visiting any other island with a giveaway. Well, the island looked different, flat with no sea.

Here is the website, but be careful, you visit at your own risk. I can not say it is safe, it seemed OK to me.

how to breed blue roses

according to nookipedia, blue roses are the result of hybridizing two 1110 hybrid red roses, which are produced by cross-breeding a yellow rose with a 1011 hybrid pink flower.

You can get a 1011 hybrid pink rose from cross-breeding a store-bought red rose (2001) and a purple rose. There is also a chance that you get a 1011 hybrid pink rose from breeding store-bought red and white roses.

Here is the chart from Nookipedia:

It's not clear to me whether this is accurate, however - I have successfully bred each of these necessary roses, and so far none of the 1110 hybrid red roses have produced a blue rose ... They have produced more black, white, and red roses, however.

Maybe it's just a matter of time, since the blue rose is a 1.56% chance ...

New/Redesigned Fruit Island

the island is open, but there are NO Bridges, and I’m not done planting veggies or cleaning up. But! I have all the fruits you could want. The free stuff/donation area is over to the East, come fish, pick fruit, explore…all welcome.

I may not respond to messages as I work from home. DODO Code is Update 1HF5N;

If it grows, it goes!

You can come and pick whatever you want, I have all fruits, pumpkins, wheat, sugar, bamboo. Please don’t horde, this is a community farm. Donations welcome, but we have enough coconuts. New players keep asking how to get up high in the cliffs to the north, I have marked all the ladders and ramps with a tiktorch, so just look for those and you can climb up,

Been having internet issues due to snow storm, I will check back every now and again and update the DODO code as needed.
Also, I work from home, so if I don’t respond to messages/chats, just come on over!

NFC Emulators

We have been using amiibo cards for two years but recently learned about the newer NFC emulators, we are experimenting with the newest model from joysfusion.com and really like it with ACNH

https://joysfusion.com/codenames/ lists the amiibo characters

It lists all the files as numbers, but you can edit the filenames to list villagers by name. We have not tried to add amiibo .bin files and have not tried using it on other games. Updating requires windows Chrome browser (can be run in a VM ) and Bluetooth 4.0 or more. We did have trouble getting the Bluetooth to pair, but did get it. They use a web page, to pair and edit the files, but you can download the complete webpage from a link on their discord channel, if you want to work offline. It is about $40 US on Amazon, a fraction of what we paid for our amiibo card collection

https://discord.com/invite/EzKqQtS5Z6

ON EDIT:

The unit is small and seems fragile, it may not be a good choice for children that are rough with their toys.

Nintendo Switch on a 65 inch 4K TV ??

We are considering replacing our 58" 1080p plasma TV. It has minor to moderate screen burn in from CCTV and hoping the included scrolling program fixes it, but also looking at a new TV. Good upscaling is the most important feature as we still have mostly lower quality videos. Likewise we play ACNH every day so a TV that does good upscaling of the Nintendo Switch is ideal.

If you have any TV recommendations from personal experience, please post it. There is no rush to buy, we are very early in the product research process, and have not yet decided a price range. I did read the budget TV brands do not do a very good job of upscaling. However if ACNH players are using 4K (60 + inch) and happy with their set up, we would like to learn more about it.

Thanks

Joe
