Hello @Heliboard, first of all, thanks for making my favorite keyboard app, I use it on both my phone and tablet. I want help fixing a minor ux issue that idk if it's fixable by the user, my secondary layout (numbers + simples symbols like "@ #$" etc) has a small spacebar, the right side has an action button that takes me to the D pad and I always press it by accident, is there a way to turn it off and make my space bar full size? Same applies to the action button left of the spacebar.

I'm trying out @Heliboard as my new keyboard for Android. I've added the “experimental” dictionary for Polish and I'm truly amazed. So far it has all the inflections in suggestions. Even the first person conditional.
There's no swiping, but I don't use it, so I could replace FUTO without regrets.

I'd love to be able to use HeliBoard to type Japanese. The basic idea I had in mind would be to use the suggestion bar as a way to convert typed romaji to hiragana/Kanji. Perhaps space bar could be used to switch to a different view to select the correct conversion.

I love HeliBoard for regular qwerty typing, but I just want to be able to switch between English (and other languages) and Japanese quickly without having to switch to an entirely different keyboard app.

I can see the options for "Keyboard font scale" and "Key hint font scale" under Appearance but i can't find a way to change the size of suggestions.

How can i make suggestions bigger?

A couple months ago I posted about hitting 100k gestures here, if you're interested in reading more about the data collection project. If you're already familiar, this is an update to say I met my original long term goal, and am continuing my journey to be a walking dataset for the project. I'll see you in like, October for 500k gestures if I actually make it there; I'm projected to at the rate I'm going.

Heliboard 4.0 is close to officially releasing, and has beta releases out if you want to check it out early. It has a number of new features, though the big change for gesture stuff coming is the option to do passive gathering, which can be enabled on a per-app basis, and entries manually reviewable before submission.

Hi, is it possible to implement the SureType and T9 layouts?

In case someone unfamiliar finds this post, in March, HeliBoard began its project to create a FOSS gesture library. This is the feature which allows users to swipe their fingers across an on screen keyboard, in order to produce words. Currently—if you are using this feature at all—you are utilizing a proprietary library, such as from Google.

Right now, it's in the collection phase, as this will need a mountain of user data to analyze before anything substantial can happen. This phase is planned to last until several months from now, and the more people send in words, the better!

Maybe seeing someone who's serious about sending in data will inspire others to send some too. Here's hoping, anyway! I've been doing a fair bit, but a handful of people doing a lot less would easily exceed my output. Ape together...strong!
