preferred tools to roughen up outside holds that are too polished?
the v15 slabs i like are super crimpy so the only thing i can get in there is a battery dremel - 1/4" shank bits are too big

Just grow out your finger nails, and learn the ways of closed nail crimping. All the pro's do it.
