And yet the stove top/oven will stay on forever without alerting you until you realize something is on fire.

Or in the case of my dumb microwave: BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEEP.

WHY SO MANY

If you time it just right and open the door after the numbers disappear but before the beepy-beeps, you might just experience the greatest joy known to man, on par with witnessing the logo hit the corner of screen.

I just realized that the mains hum would be different in 60Hz compared to 50Hz.. I wonder if it's noticeable

Mine does not have a rotating plate, just a glass bottom. I assume the magnetron rotates, either that or it heats unevenly.

Mine does one and then if I take too long opening it after that, it does two really huffy ones.

2

Mine does some, then waits, then does some again, until you open it. Terrible because there’s enough silence to ignore it, but the beeps are still often enough to be annoying, so your stuck in a constant indecision between getting up and opening the door, and just staying and working since it’s quiet now.

I'm not showing off, I hate it. Stupid retro style clockwork. To do anything below 3 minutes you have to wind it over 3 minutes and back again. FUCK. And the red sticker that tells you that is unremovable, so the fucking retro style is ruined anyway. Hard to believe it was manufactured in this millennium.
