Yeah that is not a forklift, that is a telescopic handler. Makes way more sense why they didn't just walk up to the kid and pull him out.

Did you watch the video? They did use cars.
Pretty sure it’s a joke based on the way the headline was written which makes it ambiguous whether the 12 year old was in the forklift or whether the police chasing him were in the forklift.
