RIP indeed... but on the bright side, now is the perfect time to snag one of those new 15" MacBook Airs :-)

Right? But unfortunately I don’t have the money. The laptop still works though so I can connect it to my work monitors

Double RIP. I wonder how hard and/or expensive it would be to get that replaced aftermarket, if possible at all. Do you have an iPad? A simultaneously ghetto and high-tech solution would be to close the laptop lid and Sidecar your display onto it, haha

I don’t have an iPad but I have a Samsung tablet. I wanna try out a Remote Desktop app and use the tablet and see how it works. I guess I don’t have it yet, I should have it next week though.

The screen itself to replace is about $600. I bought a new screen connector cable for like $5 I still need to try

Damn. I know everyone hates on Apple prices (and I also don't love paying them despite being a fan), but the repair prices are especially obnoxious.

Yeah it’s absolutely insane. But this is also the price for just buying the display from some 3rd party, so just imagine what apple would charge

Oh fuck, I spaced and thought you were quoting the Apple repair price. Yeah that's triple RIP, lmao. I sympathise with you, friend. Can you try to get your work to pay for the repair? Kind of hard to develop stuff if you can't see anything 🥲

You reached the end
