Reddit, you will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy.

They put boots in place to downvote all lemmy comments and post about how horrible it is. The funny thing is that 2 weeks ago the posts had about 20 up to 40 likes, now I look at my front page here and it's in the 100s. There is a post with 500 likes!

If you push someone to the extreame they will learn they don't need you to live

No surprise I noticed a constant stream of users demanding that mods stop the "lame" protests and get back to real content, way more than you might expect if it wasn't bots. Astroturfing at the speed of the Internet.

With how sketchy the history of reddits CEO is, I would absolutely believe that they were astroturfing their own site. It's all about going public and getting that money. I hope it's a huge flop.

Well shit, they really did. I didn't expect Reddit to be competent enough to time something right.

No, it would have been 5 pm PDT. The world runs on GMT not PDT.

Meanwhile reddit is filling the void with B1 battle droids.

Oh hey Spot how that Instance over there? Is there a daystrom institute subcommunity and did they scrape the r/daystrom subreddit?

I'm still wondering what Reddit was expecting by killing 3rd party apps before fixing their app. They just lost around 10% of their userbase.

I'm curious if that's a guess, an estimate or something you pulled from a source. Not to imply any doubt, I've just been wondering the numbers myself.

Just guessing. 3rd party app userbase was around 10%. I'm pretty sure users always start with the main app and move to others because they just can't stand the main one. I don't imagine them going back to an app that was so annoying they had to drop it even if it was the official.

If someone still wants to cling and latch on to Reddit despite everything going on and they don't want to come here

...let them stay.

Looks like they did it at UTC time. My Boost app no longer works. Luckily Boost is launching Boost for Lemmy and sign up is open on Google play store!
