Anyone else experiencing text being randomly selected on LinkedIn?

As the title says ... ever since Firefox v110, whenever I view a post (content, images or reactions) on LinkedIn and close it again by clicking outside the pop-up, text gets randomly selected. Still occurring in Firefox v120 on Windows 10.

Interestingly, the problem doesn't occur if I close the pop-up using the "X" button.

Really annoying. I wonder if other Firefox users encounter this problem as well? Please let me know!

Happens on both LinkedIn and Instagram, never actually checked what causes it...

Wouldn't be surprised if it's some click event listener firing off a synchronous xhr telemetry request when you close the popup, which freezes the main thread long enough to make the browser think you've selected some text

Seems like you have the technical background to further investigate this ๐Ÿ™ƒ.

Good to know it happens on Instagram as well.

More than likely it's just poorly formatted html.

I don't use LinkedIn often but I notice the same behaviour when using Instagram.

Thanks, maybe I will. It could be a problem on the side of LinkedIn too of course.

It's definitely a LinkedIn bug, and not a Firefox bug. It's amazing how little these enormous internet companies care about the quality of their websites.
