This will sound strange but my eye was really drawn to your basing. Did you put together a custom mix jar of basing materials to get that look?
It's one of the base ready packs from geek gaming scenics. Scrublands I think. I smoothed out the base first with some generic filler putty, which gave it a pale sandy textur underneath. Quick and effective.
