This was the first song I learned on bass, aged maybe 15, where I suddenly felt like I was doing something exciting. The way Flea slaps goes so hard. You wouldn't expect it to work on a fairly laid-back Stevie tune but it absolutely does. One of the all-time great covers for me.

Agreed. I’m not even a huge RHCP fan, but when this video came on it was fuck yeah, bass!!!
The zephyr song was my first and to this day, By The Way is my favourite album of theirs :)
