So the BBC says PSG are open to selling Mbappe rather than lose him for a free.

Just how much of a cat among the pigeons is that going to cause and how fucking lucky are Spurs that that basically takes Kane off the market?

It's not lucky, i think they would have been better off using the Kane money for a rebuild

We've seen this before with Bale and Modric.

Levy has finally worked out that when teh only thing keeping you competitive is a world class goalscorer then selling them to buy four lesser players at overinflated prices (because everyone knows you're loaded) just fucks you.

He's worked out that Spurs can't convince anyone Kane's level to join them for any amoutn of money so no money is worth him leaving.

You know we're back when the man who was the Sun's chief football writer during the Wenger years and ghost writer of Arry REdknapps Autobiography feels the need to pen an entire article on why he can't understand why Rice wants to join Arsenal.

I'm sure there is a photo with mbappe wearing a arsenal shirt out there somewhere.

Imagine...

Seeing the PSG fans have to go through “will Mbappe leave?” every single season, I’d rather not.

I'm trying to post this separately but lemmy is being weird again; Wheatley reports (via @AlexMiller91 on twitter) that Sheffield Wednesday want BNC on loan

Hear me out, Mbappe wants to leave, Madrid is only real destination, they need cash, Caicedo's agent wants 15m apparently, OFFER 85M for Camavinga and let Real build their super team with Mbappe......

My dream is Camavinga. As a follower of French football he was always going to be huge and can't believe Madrid got him for 30m euros

Shhh. Aye, itll never happen, I just saw the Mbappe stuff and thought they've wanted him so long perhaps they would consider it haha! But given Mbappe told them months ago I assume Perez has been aware for entire time.

@TinPotRadioShow agreed but I like your thinking of trying to get some of their players as a result…like when we got ozil when they bought bale

I have enough reporters on my plate to repost; how bout you do it :) Gotta all post to keep this place active

2

@Astrealix heh, I don't use twitter anymore, so wouldn't be much help, especially as I'm now on this side of the pond and news would break while I'm asleep. Hopefully the mods on r/gunners will help spread awareness of lemmy once the sub re-opens.

Rumours that Sheikh Jassim has won the United bid. Ngl, im slightly worried.

Would PSG sell Mbappe to their sister club United?

4

Honestly that all the money in the world can't overcome ligue un being a farmers league makes it more likely in my mind that they're switching to a club with a bit more pull.

Hopefully it won't go though but the idea that Rishi will stand up to the people currently supplying rather a lot of gas and not shy of dropping cash into private bank accounts makes me think this one's going through as easily as newcastle.

4

Mbappe has to want to go tbf lol. I'm more worried about the integrity of the league...

I'm absolutely bored to tears so I borrowed my friend's ITVx sign on to watch Soccer Aid...and why oh why is Chunkz the striker on the second half?

Surprisingly, Hiddleston and Claflin both put in a shift. Super Jack still looks good.

4

Soccer Aid is great and Chunkz went on to balance out the rest of the wrold having Lee Mack up front.

Napoli apparently want Holding and Balogun, charge them 55m combined and take it imo haha

2

Honestly would make sense for both of them, which is why I can't see it happening.

hard disagree. with mbappe on the left, teams wouldn't be able to double mark saka on the right. and with odegaard feeding them both...

i love what martinelli brings, but mbappe is two tiers above him as a player

@kuijun @darkufo I think darkufo is talking about the culture of the team, and how everyone works to cover each other. Mbappe doesn't track back, and his ego would disrupt the changing room.

2

fair enough, but tracking back is probably like the one area where Martinelli is better than Mbappe. in every other area (pace, dribbling at pace, finishing, decision-making) Mbappe is world class, if not best in the world.

in the end we're disagreeing over something that will probably never happen, but there's no way Edu/Arteta would say no to Mbappe joining the club if it were realistically possible.

2

Nah Mitrovic would be better, can't imagine Mbappe happy getting benched by Eddie

1

he's the best player in the world atm. no way you would say no to that, even if the fit isn't ideal at first
