Honestly, every year is the year of the Linux something or the other. Android, ChromeOS, Steam Deck... always something new going on, or improving to where it gets closer to reaching critical mass.

You could even say that the year that schools ditched Windows and iOS en masse to give students cheap Chromebooks was the real year of the Linux desktop.
