What is everyone planning to watch this new season?
A new season is about to start (or has started in the case of the Love Live spinoff), and for those of us who watch seasonals, I've been wondering what you all are planning to try out.
You can check what's going to air here (Anilist) or here (MAL).
I'll post my own list in the comments.
This is going to be a light season for me:
I only intend to watch:
Jujutsu Kaisen s2
Last Boss Queen
Nier Automata ep10-12
Will try out:
Undead Murder Farce
Saint Cecilia and Pastor Lawrence
Is on thin ice for previous season I disliked:
The Devil Is a Part-Timer! (2023)/Hataraku Maou-sama!! (2023)
Man Part-Timer's ending was spoiled for me and now I have like no motivation to watch. I watched last season but I forgot how much fan service the show had and I don't know if I can bring myself to bother with it this season. It was pretty boring and bland last season.
Ohh so less incentive to continue if the ending sucks too.
I'll give it a try, but I don't expect to continue past the first episode unless it's somehow really good as unlikely as that sounds.
I'm usually watching a ton of shows each season, though I also end up dropping a lot of them as the season goes on.
This time I'll give a try to:
And watch the continuations of:
Watch:
Will checkout:
Might watch:
I haven't watched the original series for most of the sequels this season, so my watchlist is as follows:
Plan to watch to Completion:
Ryza no Atelier: Tokoyami no Joou to Himitsu no Kakurega
Uchi no Kaisha no Chiisai Senpai no Hanashi
Plan to give 3 episodes:
Shiro Seijo to Kuro Bokushi
Level 1 dakedo Unique Skill de Saikyou desu
Liar Liar
Plan to give 1 episode:
I'd like to give Mob Psycho 100 a try this season too. Also the Yuru Camp Movie, which I started but never completed as I got distracted. I've also had Log Horizon on my "Watching" section for a while now without actually watching it, so hopefully that as well.
Oh man if you haven't seen Mob Psycho 100 you're in for a great ride. It's got some top tier fight scenes and some of the best characters.
I certainly hope so! I hear it's great, and if it comes anywhere close to One Punch Man S1 in quality, I'll be a happy man.
Gonna be watching these, but aside from Horimiya I'm not sure I'll complete them.
Horimiya, Ryza, Suki na Ko ga Megane wo Wasureta, Moshoku Tensei, Helck
Also just watched the preair episode of Watashi no Shiawase na Kekkon. Really impressive for a somewhat cliched shoujo story. Gonna give a watch.
Wow, even Masamune-kun's Revenge is getting a second season. Never thought I would see it getting one.
On that there are so many sequel these days. Feels bad about they days back when even good anime usually only get one season with no closure because the manga is still publishing while nowadays even mediocre manga are getting second and third seasons.
Being honest, I feel like other than the sequels to beloved franchises, there is not much good this coming season.
That said, some friends and I have been getting together every Sunday to watch through some of the stuff that is airing and will probably continue with that in the Summer. To that end, the crappy isekai is great to riff on even if it is not that good.
Shows that I am actually looking forward to:
Shows that might be fun to riff on:
May seem like a lot, but I'm the type to try anything that seems to be remotely interesting. Then, after a few episodes, I will decide on whether or not to continue watching. Case in point, I had 30+ shows on my list this season. Even including the seven crappy isekai I've listed, there are only 23 shows on my initial docket.
I'll probably watch Jujutsu Kaisen S2 and Nier Automata once the rest of its episodes release. Otherwise I'll sit tight and see if anything else piques my interest
On the hype train for reincarnated as a vending machine
I always pick one show for each day of the week. Some variety without overloading myself.
This season is Jujutsu Kaisen, Helck, Vending Machine, Liar Liar, Rent-a-Girlfriend, Horimiya and Zom 100.
I'm... Truthfully not expecting the most it this season, but I'll be happy to be proven wrong.
I don't really watch stuff as it airs, but the shows I'm excited for this season are:
There's some other fantasy/isekai and romance that looks interesting, but I'll wait and see what the community thinks of it before I decide to watch.
Just started the Gene of AI. Good science fiction about a AI future.
