How long after drought to have trees inspected?

Hello, all. This year we had about a month long drought and heat wave, and we have several old oaks on our property.

I want to get an arborist out to see if any need to be cut down, but I'm not sure how long I should wait for the trees to start showing signs that they're in trouble.

I would wait until spring at the earliest. A month long drought shouldn't even begin to phase a mature oak.

Thank you! I figured the same, but wasn't sure if weeks of triple digits might have more of an impact. I'm sure those suckers have roots in the water table by now.
