Finally upgraded my phone - no, that doesn't mean a new one. No need to spend hundreds just for some extra storage, or to give up my data to some dodgy cloud where I have no control over it

Honestly, if we could upgrade the RAM in phones, I'd probably be fine with this one for a decade. (Or until they start making phones with qwerty keypads again.)

There's a lot of fake SD cards on the market, worth checking it before putting anything important on it. I find that if you can put more than eight gig of data on it without it getting corrupted then it's probably real

There's an Windows executable your can use to check, it does the writing and read checking for you. H2 something iirc.

Congrats! And holy shit, having a way of upgrading RAM in a phone is something that never crossed my mind! This would extend life of phones by so much.

There's no reason why at least the motherboard couldn't be a replaceable module if one is happy with cameras and display, or the other way around. Not saying it has to be super simple like plugging in a Lego module, but it's definitely doable. Most peripherals are borderline off the shelf anyway and their functionality and support is mostly in software.

A fewhavextried but sadly failed. If they just made the phones less difficult to modify people could still at least have local technicians change components

I had a bunch of these these crappy keypads. I mean one that's in the phone, that I can use in lieu of the touch keyboard, while holding it in its normal position. If I'd want to put my device on a table and type while sitting in a chair, I'd rather use a small laptop.

You reached the end
