SOLVED: Can I just buy the OLED screen standalone to replace the LCD screen?
It would be great to just replace my LCD screen instead of buying the new iteration of the steam deck...

All you have to do is READ THE SPECS of the OLED Steam Deck to know you can't. It's a completely different device.
I did not and had the idea of replacing it in the back of my mind so this posting helped qwash that musing anyway.
I think that the correct answer could be not the "original" Steam oled. I mean the demand for retro-compatible oled display will be huge, so maybe someone will figure out how eventually install third party screen. Still just a speculation right now.
