Everyone knows the story of Achilles, but fewer know that he had a brother Bophadies. His mom did the same thing, dipping him in the river for protection, but seeing the fate of Achilles decided to approach the problem slightly differently. Instead of holding the baby by the ankle, she held him by the testicles, which could be much more easily protected in battle by armor. Bophadies then went on to conquer many foreign lands.
Anyway, next time Greek literature comes up, you should ask people if they want to hear the epic tale of Bophadies nuts.

You are now the president of Lemmy. Welcome, our glorious leader.
Congratulations sir or madam, that was fantastic
I shed a tear
Felt familiar
Oddly enough, that's actually how I feel about my entire body! Head too!
Direct link? Because the quality makes it unreadable.
Yeah the black bars makes it hard to read.
“Read”, right. 👍
I can read it just fine
What are you viewing it on?
Sync
I'm also using Sync. The first time I loaded it, it was a garbagey jpg. The second time I loaded it, it was HD.
On Boost there's a little HD button to load the image in full quality. Maybe Sync has something similar? Otherwise open the post in a browser.
TIL about the HD button, solving a problem I've had since the "old" Boost. Thank you, kind stranger!
(My workaround was always the browser. Clumsy, but it worked)
lol it's been there for years!
Yeah, I'll double-check next time. It's just not a rare thing that people post low quality images.
Click on the post first, then open the image.
For whatever reason turn this off fixed low quality large images for me:
Settings shortcut: Media > Zoomable video
Wow I didn't have any issues with this post but disabling that setting made basically every picture way better in several small ways wtf
Zoomable video? Not the 50MB picture size limit?
Nope, still have that turned on. I really have no idea why that fixed it. I saw another user recommend it in another post and it worked.

Cheers!
Try opening the post and tapping it again. The preview was low res for me too.
That actually... worked...? Are you also using Sync?
I'm on sync too and I had to close an open it a couple times before it would load full res
Yep. It's happened before and people using other apps had the same thing happen to them too. Not sure if it's affecting all apps or just some.

Odd, it's full quality for me
combat me, bro
The better joke ☝️
Critical Failures 2 had "female armor" in it that looked like a metal bikini and they explained that somehow the attacks always hit the armored parts.
Arouse them and then slay them!
Breastplate of Argon!
