This might actually pull me back in.
I thought the same until: Players can only enter the Abattoir of Zir if they have completed the Season Journey.
That's not as scary as it looks. I'd say 24 hours of playtime with no rush. Comparable to the playtime needed to access the Greater Rifts in Diablo 3.
