[Serious] Former NFL QB Mallett dies in apparent drowning
Former Arkansas QB Ryan Mallett, who went on to have a seven-year career in the NFL, died Tuesday in an apparent drowning at a Florida beach, according to the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office. He was 35.

Good swimmers don't usually drown, they have some other event that stops them from being able to swim.
If Mallett was still in good shape, then I wonder if something else happened.
Athletes, as they age, can become overconfident as well, so who knows for sure.
That’s really sad, he was still so young. RIP.
