I'm surprised they didn't merge Waze features into Google Maps and kill off Waze years ago given Google's track record of killing off stuff.
I don't know what I'd do without Waze. Maybe someone will create a federated open source Waze using Open Street Maps.
According to the article, Google’s notice gives assurance that it remains committed to Waze.
Didn’t they say that about Stadia two days before shutting it down?
