If Perez was RBs #1 driver we would've thought RB had the 4-5th fastest car now, having fallen off a cliff almost as fast as Aston.

If they feel he is not performing at the level they need, they can remove him. It's not like they need a specific reason
It's a false affirmation though. He could say Checo will be driving in 2024, he isn't.
Why say something that could be false. He is not trying to say checo will be in the seat in 2024 no matter what. He is just saying this(championship finishing postition) will not be the deciding factor for checo's future
They've already decided his future is my bet.
