I am officially diagnosed with ADHD combined type! After waiting so long for my appointment and feeling so anxious that I was somehow wrong about it, it's a huge relief. I get to try medication and looking forward to the bonus weightloss that comes from it lol

14
aussie.zone

bonus weightloss that comes from it

I'm on day 3 of starting my meds and I feel like the loss of appetite is real. Like, I used to forget to eat at regular times because of the ADHD, now I'm not eating that much because of the ADHD meds. I could barely finish half of my dinner last night and as of 1pm today I've had half a banana.

2

Oh damn, it really is hitting you hard. For me it hasn't been too bad overall, my appetite seemed to not be too impacted, but I'm wondering if it's the low dose I've started on.

1

god that was weird, I had to call Daycare back about something. I called and introduced myself with full name. They go "Who sorry?" I repeat, a few seconds of silence and I go "I'm X's Dad" "Ooooooh, X's dad, hang on a second I'll find who called you". I think its the first time I've said I'm someone's dad out loud. it has a very sobering effect.

There was a cat sitting on the side fence yowling during the night. Mr Ps bedroom is that side, so he scared it off by poking the rubber chicken toy out the window and gave it a few good honks 😂

'm fucking screaming that is genius. And the mental image is a delight.

::: spoiler incoming rant. Vulgar language may be used.

Yesterday I noticed that Coles flatbread has gone up a buck from $3 to $4. That's 16.66666666667c increase per wrap. It's flour and water! I only buy it because it's made fresh right before my eyes so if you're reading this Coles you can go and lick my old man's left testicle you fucking bottom dwelling scabs. Yeah I'm dirty. I hope Santa brings you a big bag of farts ya scumbags. :::

3

I went to Aldi the other day. No cottage cheese. No alfoil. No Lactose free milk. I was forced to go to Coles unfortunately. But I do hope that when Aldi starts delivering it forces the other 2 to stop the bullshit.

We normally get lebanese bread (made that day) for $1.60 for 5 but sometimes it's nice to mix it up. I'm seriously thinking about making my own.

I'm looking for something lower joule to swap out but most wraps are small or thin, or expensive, or all three. Leb bread is such an all rounder in my diet.

I’m with you. Bloody Woolworths rises their homebrand soft drinks to 1.10.

Original they were about 69 or 75 cents.

4

That was probably John Septimus Roe nearly 200 years ago. He's kind of a big deal in Perth history. Major highway named after him, High school etc.

He is Perth's equivalent of John Batman, but revered more like John Monash. It's all Johns for days.

cats are definitely adoring the new house. Oh that giant window facing north - not in my office, where I make noises at them for shoving everything off my workbench to sprawl, but in the dining room, where boxes and beds are placed for their use. Screen doors without modesty panels so they can breeze their whiskers and see everything and not wait for a human to put a little stool up so they can try and peep out. heating vents.

Plus now they can see the entire back yard....and they're gonna absolutely lose their shit when the corellas invade the fruit trees.

Hahahaha ok so I just brought my golf bag up to my apartment and I'm looking through all of the pockets to clean it out/try to find my glove (found it) but I also found something completely unexpected AND telling of how long it has been since I played golf. I found 3 old porn DVDs in the big pocket, which were my friends DVDs he asked me to hide for him (I know how this sounds but I swear it's true). This is a friend I haven't seen or spoken to for about 10 years.

Hmm my apartment building has a free public library shelf thing.. maybe I should make a donation.

I have to say it, an oldie, I can't resist.....suuree for a "friend".

I think the only really offensive doormats are those with picture of muscle cars on them. I can even live with a Happy Christmas or Welcome To this Hous doormats (spelling error intentional - I saw one with that exact error at Vic market once). I do like the Welcome to this Tardis ones that they sell at the comic shop on St Georges Road. And the Batman ones.

4

WELCOME mats are a bit boring so when my friend said I've got some door mats for you I didn't get too excited but when I saw them I actually like them.

Unfortunately it takes until late afternoon for the sun to slant through the window and screen door. Cruelly she can even see it approaching without being able to bask.

I could drag myself through setting up her little pipe frame house and wedge the opening against the window to let her out in a controlled way but the intruder cat would come fight with her

I sometimes see posts on social media that have such poor grammar & spelling that I can't even figure out what the person is trying to say. Then someone else will relpy as if it is perfectly understandable and I'm just staring at it wondering how on earth they managed to work it out. Is it the same superpower as understanding toddler speak, or a complete skill set on its own.

One of the more recent ones I saw a woman was talking about going shopping, and had something along the line of "git husband fine I have ordered more" and someone managed to translate that to wanting to know if she could return some items for a refund because her husband received a fine. I was just trying to figure out why she was calling her husband a git if he was fine with her shopping spree!

7

Oh man some of the jobs we get through our ticketing system at work from the front-line teams are like this... we can spend more time trying to work out what they're trying to say than actually working on the issue. Often our interpretations are wildly wrong too.

Also, clever of you to include a spelling mistake ('relpy') in the post, very meta - what do I win for picking it up? :D

I hate how long it takes to download games. Decided to download Skyrim, it took an hour or so which I thought wasn't too bad - then it had to download a whole lot of other stuff, and has taken all afternoon. It's currently downloading wild horses. Meanwhile I'm downloading various mods on my tablet while I wait - I haven't even started playing but I'm ready to mod the game until it is unrecognisable 🤣

Edit: Apparently wild horses was what we were waiting for - it's ready to play!

If its your first time, I recommend avoiding mods initially. Once you start down that path, forever will it dominate your destiny.

I just went to have a look at tickets.. 206 minutes??? How long will the directors cut be???

I love going to the movies but I'm not going to go and sit for 3 and a half hours. I'll watch that one at home.

6

I did The Batman that's almost 3hrs, but I was also in Gold Class (or maybe it was Hoyts Lux), that wasn't too bad. Though when I watched The Eternals that was 2hrs and 38mins that was in regular cinemas though and man I hated it.

But I was also dealing with my back injury at the time so sitting is very uncomfortable.

Also I don't like Jada because she had her shitty little sex Ed talk show on for years, even had her mother and daughter on, sprouting honesty but failed to mention she had separated from her husband. All integrity gone.

5

I don't know what you're talking about, and I'm ok with that. Last time I heard that dude's name, he punched the presenter at the Oscars and instead of kicking him out of the place like they would anyone else, they gave him a bloody Oscar.

I already wasn't watching the Oscars, so I couldn't even boycott.

It's probably good but massively overpriced

Don't spent more than like $70 on a gin

Roku gin ain't half bad... Japanese

Tanquray or Bombay sapphire are nice classics, as is Gordon's (OG shit)

Gin is a fairly basic drink. It doesn't need aging and is all about the botanics.

More $$$ means more wankery

2

No worries. I drink a lot of gin. It's a really pretty bottle if you go with the first one but Gordon's is always a winner with the youngin's .Beefeater's, Tanqueray or Bombay Sapphire are other popular winners.

A whole tin of these is only 761 kj - and that is 50% protein. Hmm... I'll need to investigate.

2

There were! But that chilli one sounded great. I had a lovely decadent lunch:

Verdict: delicious, but a bit too decadent. I think I'd try a flavour that wasn't oily next time. Over 2,000kj in total for lunch - but it was all in the flat bread and sardines. The rest was rounding on those two.

So my plan was to give the electric piano/keyboard whatever you call it which has been collecting dust in my apartment to my niece for her birthday. I just dusted it off and plugged it in to make sure it's all good but it's a serious bit of kit which I bought for myself for like $500 back in like 2018 I think. It might be a bit too much equipment for a 4 year old. Now I'm thinking I should just go and buy her a more kid-appropriate one like this one and hold on to this one for now. If I still have it when she's a bit older maybe she can have it then.

4
Nathreply
aussie.zone

I think the smaller one might be the right call for a four year old. We started on real piano sizes at six, and even then the tiny fingers couldn't really reach the keys.

Thanks for the reply, I went out and bought the little one this afternoon and I hadn't even considered her tiny fingers!

3
aussie.zone

Definitely a good thing to be making in this weather.

I do a Vietnamese style, with condensed milk. Looks really good in the double-walled glass mugs, with a layer of milk at the bottom and coffee on top. Makes a quite sweet drink though.

5

Hmmm.. I tried one once but it wasn't for me, but that was very early in my coffee drinking career so I should probably give it another whirl because they SOUND amazing. It'd need to be a "sometimes drink" though, being so sweet. I also have a childhood-fondness of condensed milk from memories of mum making rice pudding, so I need to make sure I don't overdo it with that stuff.

Yes, although in my case the eScript text arrived and then the prescription un-validated itself after 5 minutes so when I got to the chemist I was left hanging. Check if your local chemist will do Active Script List, that saved my arse when I reset my phone and lost the SMS with the prescription link and my psych was on extended leave. If you consent for them to have your details they'll be able to look up all previous and current eScripts and dispense any current ones even if you don't have the link/QR code

I've used Wise (formerly TransferWise) for international transfers a couple of times. They use "mid market" exchange rates so tend to be on the cheaper side as far as total loss of value on a transfer (fees + exchange rate losses).

Admittedly it's been a couple of years since I last looked around at these services though!

6

Yeah, my brother uses Wise for all transfers in/out of the US. It's a fairly popular option for larger amounts

3

Honestly I was pretty content with the fees involved when I used it for Euros a couple years back. Afaik the fees aren't trivial but at least they're not steep (unlike e.g., using PayPal to do the same thing) - I didn't really feel robbed but it'll depend on what your expectations are!
