Well…I mean, it’s the best metric you could possibly get for ‘activity’. Up/downvotes are mostly ‘engagement’ imo

And anyway, what about kbin? The registered and active numbers are the exact same. Are they counting every registered user as active?

That actually makes sense but it didn't take that into consideration...

So, if this stat matters, why not change it to align with the accepted definition of "active user"?

Yup it is. Worth the watch for those who haven’t seen it. There’s a book as well but fair warning, it is very different from the film.
