Creating an index of libertarian / right-leaning instances
I'm considering making a list on our company git repository of lemmy instances not operated by marxists, I think it'd be a great way to introduce more people to this network.
However, my only concern is this being used as a blanket blocklist on instances operated by marxists. Any ideas, will this make more good or harm?

I'll begin creation of this git repo and add instances to it, please reply to this comment with instances you'd like me to add :)

Exploding Heads please
Do it.
Thinking about it more we not only should add right leaning instances but generally instances who won't ban you for saying the "wrong stuff"
I agree on this point. I don't want an ideological echo chamber, just a place that you don't have to be walking on eggshells.
The fact is right now right wing places are the places that let you say stuff and they just call you stupid instead of banning you or seeking out your employer, but even that could change in a heartbeat. What matters is libre.
I think you're right :)
It is going to filter out zombies from the crowd. I already use the lemmy.ml blocklist to find good instances.
Ha ha lol really? I know I'm on some lemmy instances but I can't use them. Why? Because the fucking ban me LOL can't say shit there
That is an interesting tactic, I will investigate that :)
I think the instances that want to block us, will block us anyway.
My hope for the Lemmyverse going forward is that it becomes a lot more tolerant of different viewponts and willing to engage in discussion rather then simply block/ban.
It also puts a responsibility on us to be respectful when we engage.
I think you're right.
