I had found this but I think I'd rather stick with Freetube as I don't want to deal with the cat and mouse of YT and UBlock constantly breaking each other's attempts.
A friend of mine has a working beta of a distributed, scalable, federated youtube replacement that uses a simple flat fee for uploaders, an opt-in storage pool where you can earn credits, and is free to watch with no ads.
