Kudos for having the Pokemon adventure manga! I have a whole collection of them, and X/Y are the latest ones I have.
Gen 6 was the first new Gen I experienced unfold as a Pokemon fan. I remember having friends try to explain mega evolution to me and having my mind blown. Then I got Pokemon Y and was so enamored that I made a stupid little YouTube video of Blastoise mega evolving.
I have plenty of memories of X/Y, but I think other games have been more memorable: HG/SS, B/W (but strangely not B2/W2 as much), OR/AS (when that game turns 10 I'm gonna cry lol), and even [hot take alert] S/V.

No kidding... and I'm only 22! It feels like I only played X a few years ago, but that was actually sword :(
