Best wishes to not your cat. She looks like an older lady, I bet she's staying home more these days. They also learn pretty quickly who will feed them and who won't, if you didn't cave she's probably shaking down someone else.
I think the reason she came by was that her owners were traveling so she had to stay outside a lot and maybe she didn't get enough food from whoever was supposed to look after her.
I assume the owners are back now so she doesn't come outside anymore? Either way I wish her well and hope one day she comes by again.
