Poor Sargeant. He gets a lot of shit, but that's gotta suck being sick out there, as hot and humid as it is. Yeah, nothing wrong with retiring if he really can't handle it anymore.

According to Dutch commentators he doesn't like to drink during racing. Could very well be the cause?

(I don't know if he was sick from the start)

4

F1TV commentators mentioned that he actually was sick over the whole weekend, but the team kept it quiet.

3

I was really worried he was going to crash the way he sounded. Absolutely right decision to retire and the team sounded really supportive.

What a shitty situation to be in really....

Hamilton: I got taken out by my teammate.

Russell: I got taken out by my teammate.

17

Solid stuff by Norris. From 10th to 3rd is quite the feat.

What a shitshow of a circuit. Too bad petrodollars speak higher than anything else

16

Hopefully, Logan is okay.

I can't imagine being sick while driving a bloody f1 car. Sounds horrifying honestly

Sainz might be out with a fuel leak according to Albert Fabrega

11

Ferrari should just put him in the pit wall to call strategy for Charles. Maybe the strategists would learn something.

11

Definitely out, they're saying now.

Edit: Fuel leak. Probably close to the tank, or the tank itself, since they couldn't fix it in time.

5

I still can't wrap my head around McLaren's turnaround mid season. If you only count the second half of the season, they would be well in the fight for the constructors championship.

I think these forced tyre changes have ruined this races potential

9

They need to change those curbs for next year. It's unacceptable to have curbs that cut the tires and force these kinds of restrictions.

Perez grabbing a 5s penalty after he finally made his way to the front... Fuck's sake, Checo.

8

After he sees the replays, he'll blame himself, I'm sure. He is not stupid.

I do wonder, though, what teamLH will say about it. Something insane as usual I presume

5

Has to be something better than sparkling water for countries with no alcohol...

1

If this leads to an exciting, chaotic race, watch the FIA implement pre-degraded tires and lap limits starting in 2026.

2

How are people blaming russell. He would have had to disappear to prevent contact

7

If you get lapped by your teammate and are behind an Alfa Romeo, with a new engine, there's not a lot to be happy about.

Edit: behind 2 Alfa Romeo's. At this point they might as well put Ricciardo in the car when he returns so he can get used to it and let Lawson stay in the Alpha Tauri.

Alonso noooooo

Just glad he didn't beach it.

6

Oh jesus... I just realised Max is already 23 seconds ahead while we're halfway the race.

Feels like a summary of this season.

Has Verstappen been out of the track limits this race? Earlier F1TV commentary said he was the only one who remained within the lines.

Don't think so. His teammate has that covered for the both of of them.

13

I don't think he was ever under enough pressure to make a mistake like that.

6

Doesn’t need to. That man in that car is a combination that approaches divinity.

3

Ahh, good ol' Hamilton. Taken out by his teammate.

But he pitted one lap to late, didn't he?

1

He needed to cross the finish line to get to his box. So technically he drove 18 laps and a small bit of the next one. But it seems that this is still ok, otherwise there would have been multiple black flags by now.

2

I bet they were lookig forward to cooking down with the bubbly, what a let down.

3

Unparalleled talent. Just got himself a 5 second penalty for track limits, as well.

6

OSAMA BIN RUSSELL DOES IT AGAIN

Edit:

Yeah nevermind, no clue what was Hamilton thinking. He was never making that move

3

The mandatory tyre stops should be interesting.

Russell also making an excellent recovery.

What is Laura wearing on her back on F1TV? Is that like a mini fan or something? Or part of her audio pack? I don't think I've ever seen her wearing that before.

2

The Mercedes kerfuffle did lead to a lot of overtaking actions on Russels side. A lot of overtakes in general anyway!
