warm feeling of cuddling a cat

crushing searing pain of cat stepping on neck ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

That point loading from their tiny little paws is painful!

9

They put all their weight on one foot at a pressure point and then donโ€™t move ๐Ÿ˜–

6
Catfishreply

Interestingly we had to calculate point loading of an elephant when I was in theatre tech school. Thought we were all good, then were told it was doing the one leg trick.

Yep they find that exact spot on your sternum and suddenly become an elephant

4

Your sternum? You're lucky, mine always stands on a boob.

That too, I find the bony bit more painful. Him trying to steal jewellery in the middle of the night is another issueโ€ฆ

2

Naughty cat! I've had the displeasure of a claw holding onto a nip to prevent a slide. Never again.

Why do the kitty gotta step on the tiddy

7
aussie.zone

Huh. Actually felt strong on my 5k run. Considering I'm about 20 kg overweight, I've gotta say I'm pretty happy with that.

14

That's awesome! I've never been much of a runner ๐Ÿ˜” Getting better as I get fitter, but I can't see myself doing a 5k run anytime soon ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿฆฅ๐Ÿข

Guess who decided to make an appearance (!)

Just Joey. They smell really, really, really ridiculously good looking.

Does this look like itโ€™s made of ham to anyone else?

7

Just Joey is my favourite! My mother had an awesome rose garden, she had it in her garden and the fragrance was glorious.

Ahh, a beautiful Just Joey. I have my Kardinal starring to bloom now. Ridiculously long stems. If I remember I'll get a photo tomorrow.

3

It's such a great rose. And ooh I'm looking forward to the kardinal when it goes :)

It is a lovely morning out there, it made for a very pleasant morning walk. Mr Woof enjoyed himself, and wanted to do all the side quests. Mostly they were quick follow-the-scent quests, but I had to put my foot down when he wanted to follow the shady character in a hoodie, I'm pretty sure that one would open up a long quest chain we just don't have time for.

Note to self: I might be spending too much time playing video games...

13

::: spoiler regarding shady individual
Nothing happens in the main game as I recall. :::

Not that Iโ€™m aware of. Sounds equally awesome and terrifying ๐Ÿ˜ธ

I remember those shirts kind of gained popularity in the 90s during the swing revivalist movement. I had a an all black one with black velvet front panels. It worked well at dressier events as well.

Thank you.

Curiosity: I fat finger deleted this post and everybody is replying to it rather than the redo?

4

Didn't see the other one. I do now, but not before.

1

Oooh. First prospective buyer who came through today is very keen and is coming back with his wife Saturday afternoon. AND the house they're renting is being sold so he needs to find a place fast.
Fingers crossed for a good outcome and a good offer!

13

I turned the portable heater on, because I'm shivering, and the motor that makes it turn side to side caught fire. Turned it off quicksmart, but I didn't have 'electrical fire' on my bingo card for today.

Serves me right for buying Anko brand shit from Kmart ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ

Edit: also went to the pharmacy for a medical cert, and the pharmacist gave me original Codral with the 30mg of Pseudoephedrine Hydrochloride (instead of what it is now, with 5mg of Phenylephrine Hydrochloride). Noice!

Just ask for it? I always do and they just ask you a few questions and see your ID.

1
Catfishreply

Iโ€™m a Goth. This tends to come with some highly inaccurate assumptions about my drug use that asking nicely doesnโ€™t work

1

Hell yeah Codral Original formula is all I accept and the only one which works for me. You just have to ask for it and show your ID generally. Codral Original makes sick Bull go ni nighs.

CBFs hitting suuuuper hard today, unsurprisingly. I decided before I start whinging here about what I don't want to do, I'll swallow some small frogs. Lodged a complaint/refund request about my air purifier not arriving so that's one huge headache addressed for now. Rice is cooked for the belated tinned fish celebration. Yay.

Trying to feel better by celebrating the garden...

::: spoiler photos and shit

The snow pea forest is thriving and fruiting, yay! I know it'd be better if they were spaced further apart, but I'm very happy with having found this position and this planter box. Come at me delicious fresh pods!

Lil jasmine plant I bought a year ago has flowered nicely and smells gorgeous - I hope it brings a smile to everyone passing by. Some day when I move I'll have to untwine it and prune off what I can't untwine and hope it survives. I think they're quite resilient, it should be okay?

And finally my rocoto chilli is already (!) putting out new flowers. I suspect it's a little confused. Will need to find a new spot for it when it becomes more reliably warm. Need to harvest the chillos for some experimentation and maybe try and save some seeds?? :::

But also, just as much as I see the good, I also see sooo much maintenance I need to tackle before I head off again in two weeks - repotting, pruning, pulling out dead plants - and I feel blah again even though I normally don't mind doing it and feel productive.

And work... ugh... no... sads...

Bottom_racerreply
aussie.zone

Looking good!

I'd say jasmine would be one of the more resilient things I have in the garden keeps growing into and strangling shit this time of year. I go at it pretty heavily just to give the other stuff a chance. Always bounces back. It's probably 40+ yrs old.

4

Yeah true, I've seen them take down entire fences. I'm conscious that this little one is still small/young but it's also been doing p well so don't think I need to worry about vigour when I do prune it - would likely be after the flowering season and heading into winter.

it's currently growing in a deep but narrow tree seedling pot and doesn't seem rootbound, I'll maybe repot it in another year's time depending on where I end up.

3

Yeah it was sad because I only remembered to eat at like 1pm and was ashamed at myself for being so self sabotaging. I chopped up some garden coriander to go with it though so it did look nice.

4

I started a new exercise plan today, this time it's a 30 day fat burner. I think the trouble I had motivating for the last program was that the sessions started out at 8 minutes or so but got progressively longer to about 18 to 20 minutes or so. Which is much harder to carve out of a busy morning. Also my core wasn't very strong to start with and I hate tummy exercises! These ones are more intense and shorter so much easier to fit in. Day 1 completed.

"Jimmy Giggle" is driving my bus again today!

9

I've found a laundromat near my place which is handy because I can bring stuff here to dry which was a pain to dry before. I could have always driven to one but I never thought to. This one is convenient AND has the most modern payment system I've ever seen at a laundromat which excites me. It's also on the pricier side compared to other places around the world because we get reamed in Australia.

9

Of course, my first day off and I can't even sleep in... especially when I stayed up until 3am.

Anyways, hello everyone, I hope you're well!

Today I learned fig wasps exist and my mind is blown a little, nature is insane.

8

Today I learned that some veganism is not just about human killing animals, but death of any animal at all even if it is part of the natural lifecycle? So what happens if a worm is killed when potatoes are harvested?

2
aussie.zone

Jeez today has been a day.

Reminds of a quote my gramps said (in a very thick scottish accent many moons ago). He was a wheat / sheep farmer in WA and ended up looking after pigs for the CSIRO in retirement.

With a straight face "Aye the more I get to know me pigs, the less I like people". I was too young to understand it but it all makes sense now.

8

He gave up eating pork after looking after them heh. Absolutely taken by them.

Bill Cat is exhausted from being a bad puss.

Got through the cleanup and being out for the inspection - drove down to Chelsea and poor Sammi threw up and started anxiety drooling on the way back. However she's happily disporting herself in front of the fire, while Zooks has settled on my bed.

Catfishreply
lemm.ee

Oh poor darling. Feliway, catnip, meloxicam??

6

Was thinking of the first two will definitely check with the vet!

4

Think I'm gonna have Fatarse Friday tonight instead of tomorrow, I'm just so exhausted. It was freezing at work today, and for some reason my counting of things was out. I'd count out 65 lasagna trays and then find I'd actually counted 55, that sort of thing. Then I got home and realised I needed to use some nasal spray (I get a lot of sinus trouble, I always have). By about mid afternoon my nose always feels partially blocked. Suddenly I can breathe! Maybe I wasn't getting enough oxygen to my brain lol.

7

So I've had to take a third day off; this cold has absolutely wrecked me. No sleep, can hardly breathe, aching, snot, so much snot, eyes leaking and puffy - entirely miserable.

On the bright side: my new phone should be arriving today. Whoo, Packidge!

3

Daylight savings fucks with my sleep for at least a week and I'm waking up way too early*

Stressing a bit about work just because there's too much shit going on and feel like I'm just meeting jumping. Probably going to get reamed by management when they get back on Monday for not having enough stuff done although I'm not sure when I was supposed to have the time to do it...

*for me...

6

I just finished that awfully hard puzzle of an Ancient Roman mosaic floor, it took 3.45 hrs ๐Ÿ˜ต I've done Escher puzzles that were easier

6

I finally Did The Thing and got through my work emails (vom, blah, urgh, too many feels) And my refund claim for my missing air purifier has been approved. Now I'm trying a listing on mydeal by mydeal themselves, let's pray this works!

That's IT, now I feel like I can relax today... With plenty of nice warm food, fuck this weather right now atgjdhnghjfghhvlgtbkhfnlgg. Gonna catch up on the last 2 eps of OMITB and then maybe finish Good Omens s2! Happy chemicals, come to me...

I've had a shot of zzzquil and I've turned the heater on. Imma go ni nighs so hard.

It definitely sounds like perhaps your priorities are different, maybe it's worth addressing with him. Just a calm, quiet chat.

"I was thinking about our dates and time together and realised we do a lot of things you like to do and I haven't been advocating for myself. I would appreciate you making the effort as well"

Or something long those lines. If you're just feeling like you're completely incompatible then the chat might not be worth it.
