What do you think about conversions?
I went to a local german car show last weekend and I saw an A4 Avant that looked just like this (Lemmy won't let me upload my actual pic for some reason) and although it was done super well, I'm still not quite sure what I think of it.

I think it's commendable! There's no reason other than "this sounds like fun"
I agree - I always had a fascination with the Subaru Baja for the same reason. Nice small size + added functionality
I'll always be a hatchback person over a truck bed person, but I see a time and a place for UTEs
If you actually need the bed and will be using it, definitely. If it's just for style, sure, it looks pretty good. Either way that's better than buying a monstrous truck.
