Connect 1.0.35 release

Hi, I released 1.0.35 this morning to add in some of the feature requests I got yesterday. I hope you enjoy the update! The next update will probably be a couple days as I want to add image uploads and markdown editing but they're both larger features with some corner cases to consider. Independent text size controls is also a much requested feature that's been on my radar.

Features:

  • Added AMOLED theme
  • Added Notifications (polls every 60 seconds in the background if enabled)
  • Added view all messages in inbox
  • Added button to view all comments when viewing a single thread
  • Removed log out from the top right three dot menu as it was too close to Refresh
  • OP user is now highlighted in post comments
  • Subscribed communities are now sorted alphabetically
  • Fullwidth images are now taller than before and crop in less
  • When searching the community suggestions will now include the instance name

Bugfixes:

  • Clicking into the comments from the profile will now have the topbar title of the community name and not the post title
  • Fixed an issue with account switching between two users with the same name
  • Fixed a flash when scrolling through posts with thumbnails
  • Fixed a flash when re-opening the sub drawer
  • Fixed a bug with unsaving a comment not refreshing
  • Fixed an issue with guest login not being responsive. Now shows loading icon while working.

Loving the pace of the updates! Amazing update.

I like the full width option that was introduced, but one thing I would add to that is to still round the edges similar to the cards. It then makes it a whole lot easier to know when one post ends and another one begins!

It's still not perfect, but that may be nitpicking after I don't know how many years as a Boost user.

For example, I would love an option that fills the with of the screen horizontally and does not crop vertically at all, allowing comic like memes and stuff to be enjoyed scrolling.

Another thing I would definitely like is a donation button, because for the short amount of time this is amazing work!

yeah, after using it for longer I can tell the view still needs work. For short images it adds black boxes, and for tall ones it crops them. It should really fit to both height and width.

Hi, I've updated the full width view on 1.0.39 so it doesn't crop vertically. Thanks for your feedback!

You're doing an amazing job! I personally think that your app has the potential to become one of the top Lemmy apps and would fully support you going for a premium version in the future.

Thanks for the responsiveness and attention to detail, it's really a pleasure to use!

Hi, I've fixed 2/3 of those issues on the latest release. Creating a new post is now a better experience and browsing a nsfw profile no longer censors the posts. The linking issue is on my radar and is a bug with the markdown library I'm using. I'll see what I can do. Thanks!

Looks like when i log in with email, it displays the email address, instead of username on the left drawer. Also, long username hides the three dot menu.

Great work, thanks for the quick updates

Looks great!

Now that you've got your own community here, any chance you can add some moderator functions? Or too much too soon?

Awesome! Needs a donation button somewhere!

In either dark theme, when a comment gets highlighted it becomes white on light green which is hard to read.

Clicking the hamburger menu should offer sharing/copying options for the community you're in as well as the post you're in (if any). Maybe have this for individual comments as well.

Clicking a community name (anywhere) should take you to that community. Perhaps with an "Are you sure?" popup.

You reached the end
