Very frustrating result that. We need to win games like these.

At least we're getting more points off them than City will lol.

Yeah, we were a little lucky, but you make your own luck. I didn't feel we were too dangerous in the final 3rd. We threatened, but lacked a goal threat.

I do love Nketiah, but maybe it's time to move on?

Poor defending and avoidable mistakes alsp cost us. Though you could say the same for Spuds.

Be disappointed (I know I am...), but the game is over and the resuøt won't change. Now we move forward! :)

Confirmed that Declan Rice is an injury thing. Man has literally never been injured before coming here. fucks sake.

7

Third choice LW, third choice DM. What is our luck. Least we're not United with their CB situation ig

I think it's more about the number of games at this point as well, look at Man U, Chelsea, City, everyone's got a bit of an injury crisis going on.

3
lemmy.world

Issue is that City doesn't needs to be concerned about it...we do.

I reckon it'll bite them at some point, look at their midfield options remaining

Not great either, especially with Rodri out

4
lemmy.world

Seriously.

  • Nketiah switched off midway through the first half.
  • Saka and Odegaard didn’t contribute much in the second half, probably gassed from playing their third game of the week.
  • Jorginho horrendous.

Off day for us and I’m sure the team realises it.

Ødegaard was incredibly out of character today, passes missed, losing the ball easily. Saka needs rest and know the limits of his body.

6

I agree, he was. I’m also willing to cut him some slack (as a fan) because he's played 270 minutes this week.

3
lemmy.world

I agree but where is the quality :(

He tried a tiny bit (half forced) with Nketiah, Jorginho, Vieira/Havertz splitting time the last few games and they were largely ineffective. Having Martinelli, Trossard and Partey injured doesn’t help of course.

Saka doesn't need to play in the CL man

Also Rice, also Ødegaard, also White, also Gabriel

Kiwior, Jorginho, ESR, Nelson, Tomi all crying for game time

3

Agreed. ESR especially — hasn’t played much this season at all. He looked very sharp in pre season.

4

For real, if anything we miss the intensity of Xhaka in a NLD. He absolutely would've stabilized the midfield. Rice is awesome, but he's not quite there in terms of taking charge.

It absolutely does. We started with so much energy and felt positive. The 2nf half felt lethargic.

If we're gunna play with such intensity, we need tp put the game to bed and control the rest of the game. Easier saod than done though

4

We switched off a bit after that deflection...but we wasted quite a bit of chances in the first half.

Yeah, which has felt the same with a lot of our games this season.

4

I'm gonna go do something else for the rest of the evening, I don't even want to think about this game right now 🫤

5

We weren't playing our best, started out lively but fizzed out and it shouldn't be like this. I thought we were done with that but guess not.

Many mistakes, nervous energy, our passing was not up to standards. I don't think starting Raya was a mistake, but there were many times he let a Spud get too close to him while he has the ball. Rammers would've just humped that ball to stop that flow. The two equalizing goals absolutely should not have happened, very lucky we held on to a draw. Sigh...

Nelson and ESR looked good, they deserved more time

Yeah, Havertz wasn't terrible but ESR and Nelson brought dynamism that Havertz hasn't had for 2 seasons. The last 20 minutes needed players known for their direct play, but ESR was parked on the bench. Giving him 6 minutes in a NLD is just sad when Nketiah and Odegaard weren't contributing much in the second half.

3

Our midfield became subpar when Rice and Vieira were substituted. Havertz gave something. Jorginho was abysmal. Then Odegaard disappeared. I expected more.

I'd rather be Chelsea and lose 1-0 than be Ajax and get the match abandoned 3-0 down

1

That's on the fans... Dutch hooliganism is getting way too out of hand these past few years. Our fans are at least mostly classy.

2
lemmy.world

I didn't have a good feeling either, but we move on. We still got Brentford on Wednesday, wonder how that'll work out.

5
lemmy.world

I certainly hope so, but we just don't know how Trossard and little Gabi is fairing... Nelson starts maybe?

2
lemmy.world

For sure. It’s the league cup. We could start the U-12 team for all I care.

2
lemmy.world

Is Leo Messo still with us?

I actually would like to see Kiwi and Tomi get some time. ESR has to start now unless if it's a fitness issue.

2
lemmy.world

I believe he is!

I’d love to see all our regular starters rested. Maybe Jesus gets some minutes because he’s still working his way back.

2

Arteta is definitely not going to rest everyone. I think Gabi XL will play, White maybe.

Our midfield will probably be Jorgi and Mo 🙃

2
lemmy.world

Is Martinelli being intentionally benched? Rumors that Trossard is injured, Nketiah being kept on despite not being exactly what we needed in this match...

2
lemmy.world

He strained his hamstring so I’m guessing it was precautionary even if he felt fit enough to play.

3

Ah, that's such a shame. I don't know if he was the answer, but we almost seemed to have no answers on the bench :/
