Well, I'd say there's a time for everything. Images are absolutely amazing, but a well written story can make me cum buckets, especially because it's able to sustain arousal for minutes or even hours depending on length.
Art (!), stories, animations, fursuit photo shoots and videos, it’s all good.
Probably the only thing I’m solidly down on is animations that have voice acting and/or sound effects added, because even when it’s “good” or “well done” it still winds up being immersion/engagement-destroying for me.
Generally agree on the audio thing. https://e621.net/posts/3927533 is probably the only animation I would say doesn't have bad audio.
To answer my own questions
text. I like a good story, bonus points for illustration, but not necessary.
Short vs long depends on the mood and author. I like the world building and characters that can come from a long story. Depending on the author I will skip to or over the erotic bits.
Kinky every time. Bondage, latex, chastity...

Depends on my mood. Its hard for me to find photos/video that appeal to me. I would say I like the art of display more than the act. Add a good story and art is the way to go.
Honestly, a good kinky animation is really nice (although relatively rare in the fandom - barrier to entry I guess).
Overall, I think I'm mostly visual, although an image with a short story (or a comic) is wonderful.
I do enjoy reading stories, of course, but I think my smut habits probably lean more towards the instant gratification side.
Oh, and kinky and/or furry for me in general.
The only consistent animators I enjoy are ruaidri, and sentharn. rangarig has a few I like as well as evilbanana.
I would prefer video, but that's pretty rare because I also want furry porn. Pretty much the only porn I seek out.

I like a good story, but I preffer art. I like to imagine for myself what is really going on.
I'm kinda the opposite, I want the story to tell me what happens before and whats about to happen. The art helps with the immersion for me. Do you have a favorite Author or Artist?
Oddly enough I don't. I really like characters who travel on all fours, but have paw-hands. Where there is an apposable thumb. Not easy to do in fictional anatomy, but hands are a turn on for me. Mutual masturbation can be a lot more satisfying in art/writing then sex.

I am debating on whether or not sharing my own erotic art. If I do so again I want to try and remain partially anon with my name, Littleontheinside. Completely seperatefrom my usual fursona.
I can always understand a little bit of anonymity. I'm trying to unify online under this name l_b_i. It started as my "other" account on reddit, but I'm trying to just be unabashedly me with this name, at least anonymously online.
I can't say for anyone else, but I always appreciate seeing new art/artists. Even if I don't like it, I'll give it a vote to keep it positive.
