Devs of Postal recommend piracy over keysellers
Key reselling websites hurt indie developers like us. There are many ways to obtain our games and we STILL prefer piracy over people buying from those websites.
Illegaly obtained keys are a source of money for scammers and it could even affect you as the customer in some cases.
iirc, it's because they lose money if people get the key from those places.
Huh, how so?
Some developers find themselves in a situation were a few thousand keys are bought with credit cards and get charged back from the wholesaler.
Those keys are now out in the wild and they can put the hours in getting Steam to remove them one by one, but the chargeback from the original purchase are often resulting in fees.
I love RWS. They're the Troma Entertainment of video games and they have a good record of engaging with the community. Aside from that time they shut down the forums and funded Postal 3... But they've made up for that lol.
Yooo, RWS for the win! Postal 2 is what inspired my Lemmy name and that has a special place in my heart! Love those guysandi IMO, they need to redo the postal movie.
