That being said, Sonic Racing Crossworlds is by far the best racing game my wife and i have ever played. Highly recommend. Its a lot more fun to have a truce and avoid hitting each other as much as possible.
I was playing with my six year old, and I discovered the way to have fun is to deliberately get yourself into second place, and then make it your goal to get the other player to finish first.
Which is how I'll play until she's ready, and then I'll start truly destroying her... until she starts beating me and I will have fulfilled my calling as her parent.

I still say Mario Kart was best before the blue shell. That is to say first MK on SNES was best.
